Hey there, Friend!

Welcome back! 🍂 As we move deeper into our November theme, Grateful Heart, Peaceful Mind, this week is all about finding calm in the small, beautiful moments—the quiet joys that make life feel rich and full.

Inside this edition: a Coffee Thought about the loud and quiet joys that shaped my week, reflections on how gratitude softens even the busiest days, and a reminder that peace often hides in life’s simplest pleasures.

Sometimes, joy doesn’t look like a celebration—it looks like stillness, connection, or a single moment of contentment. Let’s start noticing those together.

Coffee Thoughts: A Week of Loud and Quiet Joys

Last week, over a delightful cup of hot coffee, I told you that I was going to do my best to focus on the positive things—the blessings I’m thankful for. I’m happy to report that I actually did it.

And maybe it’s a coincidence (though I don’t really believe in those), but this week brought some incredible moments my way. I received two amazing emails—one saying that an article I wrote will be featured in a magazine next month, and another sharing that I’ll be featured by an Instagram account out of Germany with over 56,000 followers! I also received all the photos from my professional photo shoot just in time to add to the article and Instagram feature. Those were my loud joys for the week.

But I also collected some quiet joys. I enjoyed a lovely dinner with my husband at one of our favorite restaurants. I heard from my four oldest kids. My parents sent me a photo of themselves at the Hard Rock Café in St. Kitts. I made time to lie in bed and read. I bought myself a bold new lip color (a little outside my usual comfort zone), drank more water, and spent time—whether in person, on the phone, or by text—with people I love deeply.

Focusing on just these handful of joys has made it hard to even recall anything bad that may have happened this week. I’m sure I could if I tried, but why would I? Remembering these moments—and sipping this delicious cup of coffee—brings a genuine smile to my face.

Just some coffee for thought. 😉

Collecting Quiet Joys

We tend to think joy has to be big and loud to count—life-changing news, major wins, the kind of moments that make everyone stop and notice. But real, lasting joy often hides in the quiet corners of our lives. It’s tucked inside the laughter at dinner, the warmth of a morning cup of coffee, or the feeling of being fully present for just a moment.

The quiet joys are the ones that gently anchor us when life feels noisy. They don’t demand attention; they remind us of what’s real. They help us stay grounded when the world starts spinning too fast.

Collecting quiet joys is a practice of mindfulness and gratitude rolled into one. It asks us to slow down and notice—the smell of rain, the sound of laughter, the calm in our own breathing. These small moments are what shape a peaceful mind. They remind us that we don’t have to chase happiness; we can simply pay attention to it.

When we start collecting quiet joys, we begin to shift our focus. The problems don’t disappear, but they lose their hold. The frustrations fade just a little, replaced by gratitude for what is instead of what’s missing.

Joy doesn’t always arrive with fanfare. Sometimes, it shows up quietly, waiting for us to notice.

Take a Moment for Self-Reflection

Quiet joys are easy to overlook when life gets loud. This week, give yourself permission to pause and notice the small, beautiful things that are already adding peace to your days.

  1. What quiet joys have I experienced in the past few days that I may have brushed past too quickly?

  2. How do I feel when I slow down long enough to really notice what’s good?

  3. What small, intentional thing could I do this week to invite more calm and joy into my everyday life?

Sometimes joy isn’t about adding more to your plate—it’s about recognizing what’s already there.

Personal Reflection: The Power of Noticing

Writing down my joys this week reminded me that happiness doesn’t have to be loud to be real. The quiet moments—the ones that often slip by unnoticed—are the ones that linger the longest.

It’s funny how easy it is to remember the big milestones, yet it’s the small things that shape our days. The familiar voice on the phone, the warmth of a meal shared, the smell of coffee drifting through the house. Those are the threads that quietly weave peace into my life.

The more I notice them, the more they multiply. It’s like joy responds to acknowledgment—it grows stronger the moment we name it.

This week, I’m holding onto that truth. The power of joy isn’t in how loud it is—it’s in how deeply we allow ourselves to feel it.

What I Read This Week

I’m still reading The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod, and honestly, it’s been the perfect companion for this season of slowing down and finding gratitude in the little things.

One of my favorite takeaways so far is how Hal emphasizes the importance of intentional mornings—not necessarily long or elaborate ones, but mornings that begin with purpose. Just a few quiet minutes to center yourself, express gratitude, and set the tone for the day ahead can change everything.

This week, I’ve been leaning into that practice—waking up a few minutes earlier, making coffee without rushing, taking a deep breath before opening my laptop. Those few minutes of peace feel like collecting quiet joys before the day even begins.

It’s a good reminder that the miracles aren’t always in the grand gestures—they’re often found in the calm, consistent rhythms that nurture our hearts and minds.

Take the Next Step

The quiet joys we collect don’t just strengthen our own peace—they ripple out into every relationship we have. When we learn to slow down, appreciate the small moments, and communicate from a place of calm gratitude, our connections deepen naturally.

That’s what Course #2: Nurturing Self-Love in Relationships is all about—learning how to love yourself within your relationships, so you can show up with authenticity, presence, and grace.

Discover how gratitude can transform communication
Learn to set loving boundaries that protect your peace
Build stronger connections based on trust and respect
Let go of guilt and lean into the relationships that truly nourish your soul

The more you nurture your relationship with yourself, the more joy you’ll naturally bring into your relationships with others. 💛

Wrapping Up with Inspiration

Joy doesn’t always announce itself with fireworks. Sometimes it arrives in the simplest moments—a laugh, a hug, a quiet breath of gratitude. The more we notice those small, gentle gifts, the richer and calmer life becomes.

Before I Go…

As you go about your week, I hope you’ll start your own quiet joy collection. Look for the moments that make you smile for no reason, the small gestures that warm your heart, and the little wins that remind you how good life can be.

The more you look for them, the more they’ll find you.

Never Forget...

  • You Are Beautiful!

Much Love,
Lady Misty Gebhart
