Hey there, Friend!
Welcome back! 🍂 This week, we’re continuing our October theme, Uncover Your Magic, with a lesson that’s easy to overlook in the middle of life’s noise: Your Inner Voice Holds the Map.
☕ Inside this edition: a Coffee Thought about exhaustion, overdoing it, and learning to listen when your Inner Voice starts waving the white flag, reflections on what it means to trust your inner wisdom, and a reminder that slowing down isn’t weakness—it’s self-love.
Your Inner Voice doesn’t shout—it guides. It knows when to rest, when to move, and when to let go. All you have to do is listen.
Coffee Thoughts: Learning to Listen (Even When I Don’t Want To)
It was next to impossible to get myself out of bed this morning. I have been so incredibly tired. But I did, in fact, make it to the kitchen, start the coffee pot, and flip open my laptop. As the coffee happily dripped away, I sat there thinking, “Why in the world am I so bone tired???”
Well, it couldn’t possibly be that I’m working too hard, right? I only juggle Inspired Chapter, my spa job, household responsibilities, family time, and trying to be the best wife I can be. Oh, and let’s not forget building and launching a brand-new website from scratch, writing a new book, prepping for a vendor event, taking care of my mind, body, and spirit—and all the usual day-to-day chaos. Nope. No reason to be tired at all. ☕🙃
If I’m being honest, my Inner Voice has been politely requesting, gently insisting, and now downright demanding that I slow down a little.
I’m not saying I’m busier than you or your neighbor or that friend from college. This is just my current season of life. It’s a bit chaotic, and I’ve been pushing through it. But here’s the truth: pushing through isn’t self-love or self-care.
Yes, there are times when you have to keep going. There might not be anyone else to fall back on. There are tasks that only you can do. But even in that, it’s imperative to listen to your Inner Voice—to pause, step back, and just breathe.
That is self-love. That is self-care. Allowing yourself to rest isn’t laziness; it’s wisdom. You can’t pour from an empty cup, and you can’t run on fumes forever. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is stop long enough to refill your own cup—because you’re going to need it for whatever beautiful thing tomorrow brings.
Your Inner Voice Holds the Map
We live in a world that celebrates hustle. The louder, faster, and busier we are, the more we’re told we’re “doing it right.” But there’s a different kind of wisdom that doesn’t shout or demand attention. It whispers. It nudges. It reminds you that you don’t have to live in overdrive to make an impact.
That wisdom is your Inner Voice. It’s the gentle compass that knows when you need to rest, when you’re forcing something that isn’t ready, and when it’s time to redirect your energy. The problem is, we often drown it out with noise—tasks, obligations, social media, perfectionism, or guilt.
Listening to your Inner Voice isn’t always comfortable. It might tell you to stop when everyone else is moving. It might tell you to say no when saying yes would keep the peace. It might tell you to rest when your to-do list says otherwise. But that quiet voice? It’s your map back to balance, clarity, and self-trust.
When you honor your Inner Voice, you begin to live in alignment with who you are—not who the world expects you to be. You stop pushing through and start moving with intention. And that’s where your real magic lives—not in the noise, but in the still, steady space where your truth can finally be heard.
Take a Moment for Self-Reflection
Your Inner Voice is always speaking, but life gets loud. Take a few quiet minutes today—maybe with your favorite mug in hand—and reflect:
When was the last time my Inner Voice tried to tell me something… and I ignored it?
What does my Inner Voice sound like when I’m calm versus when I’m overwhelmed?
Where in my life right now could I use a little more listening and a little less pushing?
Remember: your Inner Voice doesn’t shout—it guides. The more you listen, the clearer the path becomes.
My Personal Reflection: When My Inner Voice Finally Yelled
This week, my Inner Voice didn’t whisper—it yelled. I woke up bone-tired, foggy, and stretched too thin. It took that exhaustion for me to finally hear what it had been saying all along: slow down, Misty.
I think sometimes I mistake productivity for purpose. I keep going because I love what I do, and I don’t want to lose momentum. But the truth is, I can’t show up as my best self if I’m running on fumes. My Inner Voice isn’t trying to stop me from succeeding—it’s trying to help me sustain my energy so that I can show up as the magical being that I am.
So this week, I’m practicing what I teach. I’m listening. I’m resting. And I’m remembering that self-love doesn’t always look like action—it often looks like stillness.
What I Read This Week
This week, I’ve been reading The War of Art by Steven Pressfield — our current book inside The Inspired Page, my exclusive book club at InspiredChapter.com.
Pressfield talks about Resistance — that invisible force that shows up anytime we try to grow, create, or change. It’s the voice that says, “You’re too tired,” “You’re not ready,” or “You’ll never pull this off.” Sound familiar?
But here’s the thing: underneath all that noise, your Inner Voice is still there — calm, steady, and wise. It’s not the one yelling about deadlines or fear of failure; it’s the one quietly reminding you to keep showing up for your purpose and for yourself.
This book is such a powerful reminder that even when Resistance tries to steer the wheel, your Inner Voice still holds the map.

Take the Next Step
Your Inner Voice isn’t just background noise — it’s your built-in compass, gently guiding you toward what you need most. But when life gets loud, it’s easy to lose touch with that guidance.
That’s exactly what Course #1: Journey to Loving Yourself helps you rediscover. Over four weeks, you’ll learn how to quiet the noise, reconnect with your Inner Voice, and build self-love practices that fit your real life — not some idealized version of it.
✨ Release the guilt around slowing down
✨ Rebuild trust with your own intuition
✨ Create daily self-love habits that actually stick

Wrapping Up with Inspiration
“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes… including you.” — Anne Lamott
Your Inner Voice doesn’t need to shout to be heard. It only needs you to pause long enough to listen. When life feels chaotic, give yourself permission to step back, breathe, and recharge. You’re not falling behind — you’re finding your rhythm again.
Before I Go…
If your body is tired and your mind is begging for a break, that’s not weakness—that’s wisdom. Your Inner Voice isn’t trying to hold you back; it’s reminding you that you deserve care, too. Listen to it. Rest when you need to. Refill your cup. The world needs the magical version of you who feels alive, not the one running on empty.
